Mr. John Cady Awarded The Top 25 Attorneys of Alabama 2024

Shearer & Associates is pleased to announce Mr. John Cady has been recognized as one of The Top 25 Attorneys of Alabama for 2024 award as of August 2024. Alabama’s legal system is characterized by history and complexity, stemming from its unique blend of state and federal laws, traditions rooted in southern culture, and diverse legal challenges.
John Cady is the General Counsel and Vice President for Contract Operations at Shearer & Associates, Inc., a premier engineering firm known for its expertise in security engineering, facilities engineering, and program management.
John has over 50 years of government and industry experience as an attorney, contracts manager, and project manager. His role focuses on solving highly complex legal and contracting problems arising from the day-to-day operations of the firm. Cady develops strategic alliances, interfaces with government and commercial customers and partners, and manages all phases of contracting activities for the company.
Before joining Shearer & Associates, Inc. in 2007, Cady was employed by the U.S. Army for nearly 40 years. He received his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law and an undergraduate degree in psychology and philosophy from The University of Alabama.
Shearer & Associates welcomes Jeff Ogden as New President
Shearer & Associates, Inc., is pleased to announce it has named Mr. Jeffery S. Ogden as its new President effective immediately. Mr. Ogden brings a wealth of experience to Shearer & Associates. His leadership has been pivotal in driving strategic transformations at previous organizations, resulting in substantial growth and market leadership. His insights and leadership will be instrumental in navigating the evolving landscape of our industry.
Mr. Ogden is a retired US Army Colonel with outstanding experience having served as Deputy Garrison Commander (Ft Knox), Deputy Chief of Staff, Engineer at the Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) and later as the Chief of Staff at SMDC. He comes to Shearer from his previous role as Vice President of Business Development for Army projects in the Eastern Region at AECOM.

Frank Shearer will transition to the role of CEO, Owner, and founder but will relinquish the title of President to Mr. Ogden. Frank and Jeff will work together with the strategic goal of building a bigger, stronger company with the continued support of the Shearer family and admired clients.

Shearer & Associates President accepts the 2023 Small Business of the Year Award by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Huntsville Post
Shearer & Associates President, Mr. Jeff Ogden on behalf of Shearer & Associates accepted the recognition for being the 2023 SAME, Small Business of the Year. Shearer & Associates was recognized as a long-standing member of SAME and the local Post, Huntsville for over 20 years and has been an active member through its employees that volunteer on various Post positions of leadership.
